This is something which is indeed worthy of discussion.
As you may have noticed, the media enourages and relies on us to prioritize our self-image. Which is to say, it encourages us to judge by appearance. But people cannot be judged in a single glance! Even a book cover is a poor judge for it's storytelling!
While it is important to keep a good impression, all that is conveyed by this is whether an individual has respect for themselves- to carry their shoulders high, take care of their hygene, and dress accordingly. If you cannot look after yourself in the workplace, you cannot be expected to represent a company.

Being that I design electronics, a degree of graphic design is necessary. And during my youth I was led to believe that beauty could be captured or preserved sufficiently using these methods.
But that’s not possible.
No matter the medium, art is a poor subsitute for reality.
Whether I do still indulge in the arts as recreation is not something which concerns you. Art is one of the most personal mediums of expression!
