I think OP meant arrogance is unattractive.
Arrogance and confidence are two completely separate things.

Once ‘confidence’ sings it’s own praises, demands ass-pats from those in the vicinity, the moment it tears down another to make itself appear greater.. 
That is no longer confidence. And arrogance is exceptionally ugly.
